As an American F1 fan, I’ve been very disappointed learning that Alexander Rossi probably won’t be joining Haas F1 next season.
As an American F1 fan, I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that Rossi has a seat for 5 of the final races this season…even if it is in the slowest car in the field.
I’ve said for years that a true Copa America including all off the Americas, South & North, would be the largest soccer tournament short of the World Cup. Holding it in the US would make the event even more massive.
Well, it turns out that some CONMEBOL officials who were looking for a massive payday agreed with and decided to make it happen. But just before contracts were signed, most of them were arrested. So, now the tournament may not happen and, even if it does happen, the US probably won’t be a part of it.
Stupid!!
Oh well, there’s always the next two World Cups which…well, shall we discuss how they were bought?
I say it every year about this time, and will continue to do so. A bunch of games against foreign teams right before the playoff chase is not doing anything for the league, expect ring the cash register for the owners. It wouldn’t be so bad if these money-grabbing matches resulted in an increased salary cap so the entire squad could be improved. The league and owners would rather invest their money in a handful of stars to improve attendance. That’s fine, but if the league is going to improve, more money needs to be spent on the remainder of the squad. Anyway, my team losing to Man U isn’t as important as getting a result against Seattle this weekend anyway, right?
Well, it’s been several years since I’ve done any blogging. A combination of things lead me to blog more infrequently….and then my host decided to kill the old SQL version which all my data was sitting on, and I couldn’t be bother to salvage all my work so…b-bye blog.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do with this blog. My last one was focused on the world soccer from the perspective of an American fan. I built up a decent amount of traffic with it, but I can see myself really caring about that now.
I see myself just blogging (ranting?) about things I enjoy. Yeah, there will be plenty of soccer content, but expect to see opinions about other sports as well. If I get no traffic, that might be good too.
Anyway, they say getting started is the hardest part…guess it’s all downhill from here.
